St. Paphnutius: We must not look down on anyone

We must not look down upon anyone in this world, whether he is engaged in the management of fields, or in trade or in commerce, because there is not condition in this life in which one cannot find souls faithful to God, who secretly carry out the actions that are pleasing to Him. This makes us see that what is agreeable in His eyes is not so much the occupation that each embraces, or what seems most perfect in the way he lives, but sincerity and the disposition of the spirit joined to good works.
