The Apostle [St. Paul] teaches us about spiritual bargaining. In other words, if it is time for you to be offended - redeem it! It is by way of humility and patience that you redeem it. The time is now for dishonor. Redeem this time by meekness, and you will receive profit. Or, is a false accusation laid upon you? Buy it with patience and hope. All that is contrary can be of profit to us if we want.

1I could not find this book on line. It was published in 2001 by St. Paisius Serbian Orthodox Monastery, but appears to be out of print.
